how to handle self-doubt (I think)

last month

I don’t know about you, but I question myself a lot.

Am I doing the right thing?

What would happen if?

I hope this will work out

Why did he said that?

well, the list goes on of course and I’m sure you recognize this.

It’s only human. Did you know we’re actually the only species capable of this? Pretty cool right?

But, the main question is: is it helping me?

Well, No. Not all the time.

Sure it is helpful to be conscious about what’s happening around you and question things. I love that and I salute you for doing that.

But the doubting thoughts… those aren’t helping you. They slow you down.

It’s a process of your brain trying to protect you so it offers thoughts filled with fear of not succeeding.

But really, what’s the worst thing that can happen in most occasions?

Often we’re too hard on our selves. We know in detail everything that we failed in, because that’s where the danger was. But we forget how many things we did awesome!

So, yes, listen to the thoughts, but don’t let them define you. You are NOT your thoughts. You have them. And what you have, you can give away.

Doubting if you’re good enough, kind enough, professional enough, knowledgeable enough, smart enough, what ever it is, if you’re doubting it, it’s probably not true.

At least, that’s my experience.

You are good enough, kind, professional, knowledgeable, and smart enough. Because if you weren’t, you’d know. You wouldn’t doubt.

Knowing is the answer to any doubt. So knowing you can do what you want to do, makes you do it. And that’s the only way to find out if you succeed or not.
